If you were a European Nine Inch Nails fan that couldn’t make their way to any of the industrial rock outfit’s 2017 summer festival performances, there is no need to worry! NIN’s first 2018 appearance has already been confirmed for Madrid’s beloved Mad Cool Festival, which is set to take place over three days in July.
According to Consequence of Sound, despite the band’s reunion last year, the band hasn’t played any gigs outside of North America since at least 2014, when the band was touring behind their last full-length record, 2013’s Hesitation Marks.
The Nine Inch Nails festival appearances seem to come in support of their recent EPs. 2016 and 2017 saw the release of two new Nine Inch Nails efforts — Add Violence and Not The Actual Events — and a third EP is expected to be released sometime in the coming months, likely to coincide with the summer festival dates.
Mad Cool Festival itself has actually been releasing their 2018 lineup in an incredibly interesting way, by revealing a name each day through social media. The festival has been playing an interesting game, where it posts a set of coordinates that correspond to the place of origin of the band/artist to be announced, which ends up being revealed 24 hours later.
The festival has only just begun to reveal its 2018 lineup, but its already boasting some huge names. Among many others, some bands include Yo La Tengo, Depeche Mode, Queens of the Stone Age, Massive Attack, MGMT, Fleet Foxes, Future Islands, and Real Estate. You can purchase tickets to the festival here.
